Health Screened Kittens and Personally Accompanied Delivery
Transparency and process do the persuading. Here is exactly what goes into a healthy, well-placed kitten delivered to your door in North Carolina.
A responsibly placed kitten is the result of screening, veterinary care, and a careful journey, not luck. We build every placement on four pillars: genetic and cardiac screening of breeding cats, full veterinary health certification and vaccination records, family screening before placement, and personally accompanied delivery to your door in North Carolina.
HCM Screening
British Shorthair and Ragdoll breeding cats are screened for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, or HCM, using an echocardiogram read by a veterinary cardiologist. The echo measures the walls of the heart for thickening. Maine Coon breeding cats are screened for both HCM and hip health. Screening is repeated over a breeding cat's life, not done once.
PKD-Clear Lines
Polycystic kidney disease, or PKD, is a genetic condition some breeds can carry. We keep PKD-clear lines, meaning breeding cats are tested and do not carry the gene. Ask for the HCM and PKD screening history of a kitten's parents before you reserve.
What You Receive at Handoff
Every kitten is examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated on schedule, and handed over with full documentation. The family receives full veterinary health certification and vaccination records at handoff, and those records travel with the kitten during personally accompanied delivery. This is the transparency that separates a careful placement from a casual sale.
- Full veterinary health certification
- Vaccination records on schedule
- HCM and PKD screening history of the parents
- Documentation handed over in person
Personally Accompanied Delivery to North Carolina
Delivery to North Carolina is personally accompanied, a team member travels with the kitten door to door from our Maryland cattery. We do not ship kittens alone. The same care that goes into screening and veterinary work extends to the journey, so your kitten arrives settled and you receive the health records in person. Whether you are in Greensboro, Raleigh, Charlotte, or the surrounding region, the kitten is accompanied the entire way.
Family Screening Before Placement
Placement is a two-way match. Before a kitten is reserved, we have a short conversation with each family to understand the home, other pets, children, and experience with cats. This screening helps us match the right kitten to the right family, and it is one of the reasons our families are happy long after handoff. Ask about a kitten and we'll start that conversation.
Health and Delivery FAQ
Are your kittens HCM screened?
British Shorthair and Ragdoll breeding cats are HCM screened using an echocardiogram read by a veterinary cardiologist. We keep PKD-clear lines. Ask for the screening history of a kitten's parents.
What health records come with each kitten?
Every kitten comes with full veterinary health certification and vaccination records, handed over at delivery. The documentation travels with the kitten.
How does delivery to North Carolina work?
Delivery is personally accompanied. A team member travels with the kitten door to door from our Maryland cattery, so the journey is as careful as the screening before it.
Do you screen families before placement?
Yes. Families are screened before placement through a short conversation, because a good placement is a two-way match, not just a sale.
What is PKD-clear and why does it matter?
PKD, polycystic kidney disease, is a genetic condition some breeds can carry. PKD-clear lines mean the breeding cats have been tested and do not carry the gene, a responsible screening step.
